Howdy meowdy, folks! It’s been a busy couple of months here at Lightning Wizards and we wanted to give you a quick update on what we’re working on!

First and foremost, we’ve been making great strides on the character sheet front. Our original version lacked a lot of the fine detail that we’ve since added on, had an out-dated name for Sagebrush’s Elemental Affinity, didn’t have proper space for Convictions and Burdens, and a whole host of other issues. While I won’t say this is the final version by any stretch of the means, it’s certainly a hell of a lot better.

We’re still working on some things, mainly the Status Effects and how to represent them, but it’s all coming together rather nicely!

Thing the second: Rules tweaks, clarifications, and writing. Turns out, when writing a TTRPG, you need a lot of specificity. Where do players start on the map? Who makes that decision? Does which quadrant you’re in matter or have a name? All these questions and more keep coming up and we keep writing them down. It’s a task that can seem never ending, but it’s starting to look like we’re approaching an end. After we finish getting down the core ideas for WEIRD and all of the super crunchy and specific wording that go with them, we’ll start flavoring everything for Sagebrush. It’ll be nice to not have to sweat over stuff like “These Zones” versus “The Zones”.

Lastly for this post, just an update on the Wiki. The intention is to get everything from WEIRD on there first and then make everything public. Have a nice polished public release, so to speak. We’re most of the way done with the WEIRD rules, but there’s still a fair bit of porting work to be done. It’ll be done as soon as we can, we’re eager to start collecting wide-spread user feedback.

Anyways, that’s where we’re at. Still plugging along, still making solid progress!
