Maid

Description
Maids are dolls of two extremes: swaying between violent death and kind-hearted caring. Walking this balance puts the Maid on a razor’s edge, with madness and a broken heart just as likely as being torn to shreds. It is the Maid’s duty regardless, and her duty must needs be done.
The Specialty of the Maid is her powerful maneuvers, however they come with a cost. She must take care to use them with care and precision, lest she end up alone and defense, having sacrificed everything for her Sisters.
Playing a Maid
Maids are split between two differing styles.
The first style is focused on diving deep into the enemy and eliminating key targets. This style primarily focuses on the abilities: “One Hell Of A Maid”, “Hail Of Blades”, and “Dispose Of The Trash”.
The second style is designed around keeping your Sisters safe and healthy. This style primarily relies on the abilities: Just So, At Your Side, and Don’t Cry.
Regardless, the abilities of a Maid are powerful, but this power comes at a cost. Your ability to protect yourself is limited, your offensive abilities are short ranged, and the AP cost of your maneuvers tends to be very high. Careful usage of Golden Stopwatch and smart positioning allow the Maid to control the battlefield, while Knife Throw can allow you to contribute to a fight even if you have been gravely injured

Balance Tweaking
Different campaigns may require varied balance considerations due to varying play styles and game focuses among different groups. If you find that a Maid is either over- or under-performing in your games, here are some suggestions to adjust the balance accordingly.
Your Maid is Over-Performing
- Start by tweaking Golden Stopwatch’s point pool. 8 is a good starting number, while still allowing the Maid to feel powerful. If that’s still too powerful, consider increasing the penalty from -1 to -2 per usage. This will limit the number of times the Maid can use the ability and still be an effective attacker.
- Limit the amount of max +damage on Hail of Blades. Reducing it to +3 or even +2 can reduce the amount of burst the Maid has access to, while still allowing her to have explosive turns.
- One Hell of a Maid can be very strong with other skills that care about being in Tartarus. If your Maid is using these skills too effectively, add a madness cost to the ability to increase the danger of using it. If the attack portion of the skill is a problem, consider adding a -1 to the attack roll.
- If Don’t Cry is reducing the threat of madness to the party too much, start by removing the “If this would put a fetter into madness, you may ignore the madness effect until the end of the current round.” clause. If it continues to be an issue, try limiting it to 1 or 2 uses per round
- Just So is a very powerful battlefield manipulation skill. If this control is too effective, limit the movement to either only Enemies or only Sisters. If the ability is still too strong, prevent the maid from using the movement on themselves.
Your Maid is Under-Performing
- If your Maid is having trouble surviving in the thick of combat, consider allowing her to use At Your Side whenever she is damaged, not just her sisters. This will let her spend more time closer to enemies where the Maid is most effective.
- Maids can struggle at efficiently converting AP to damage. If this is the case, consider changing Hail of Blades’ text regarding spending additional AP to “For every 1 additional AP spent, further increase the damage by 2.”
- If a Maid is hesitant to use Golden Stopwatch, consider changing the number of points from 9 to “equal to your maximum AP”. This should encourage the Maid to use their points more often without worrying about running out.
